Strangely, the shield generators Dev mentioned were nowhere to be seen - either the pirates moved them to another location, or they were models that the operatives were not familiar with and could not identify.The operatives devised a plan to prevent White Maw from escaping with the equipment. First, they discreetly placed explosive devices in each of six terminals of the communication system. They then chose one of the patrols that was far away from the camp, and after ambushing and killing them, took the Arc Emitter diagnostic data pad. The operatives calibrated the pad at the control point and inserted it into one of the emitter control units. As soon as the hacked emitter began to send its destructive impulses towards the others, the operatives detonated the explosive charges and attacked. Surprise was on their side and they quickly killed most of the pirates, the rest fled north through the ice field in a panic. The operatives commed Dev and reported that the pirate's communication jamming system had been destroyed, and he, thanks to the now clear communication channels, ordered his forces to pursue the fleeing pirates. When the operatives returned to the outpost, Dev reported that they managed to round up all the who ran away.
